Season 1, Episode 13
Halloween Special
Join us for this very special Halloween edition of the Austin Otaku Podcast. For this week, we’ve invited a panel of guests, both old and new, to tell us about their favorite slasher films, supernatural movies, books, comics and memories related to Halloween.
Our Halloween Panel
Casey Markee
For the second time in the guest seat, we brought back Episode 8 guest, Casey Markee. He is the founder of MediaWyse, a marketing consulting firm that focuses on smart SEO for food and lifestyle bloggers.
In his spare time, in addition to being a big comic book fan, he enjoys haunted houses, candy corn and Circus peanut. Wrap it all in bacon and serve it with bourbon, and you’ll have a friend for life.
Greg Gifford
He is the Vice President of Search at SearchLab, a regular speaker on the conference circuit, an instructor for Semrush and a regular blogger and vlogger. He loves movies, tattoos, certain TV shows, video games and snowboarding.
He’s well know for his engaging presentation decks, which always integrate some sort of pop-culture reference into the theme. From horror movies to Star Wars, he knows his stuff.
John McAlpin
He is the SEO Director at Cardinal Digital Marketing and DFW Search Engine Marketing Association board member. Most recently, you probably heard John alongside Navah Hopkins, Danny Goodwin and co-host Jesse McDonald as they discussed search marketing and heavy metal music. In addition to his love of music, John is a movie and TV buff and a huge basketball fan.
In his spare time, he enjoys providing the weather forecasts in hell, as seen in this picture.
Shelly Fagin
She’s a consultant, Technical SEO, Semrush Brand Ambassador, conference speaker, industry awards judge and blogger. Shelly is also a haircare and skincare junkie, a regular card shark and a weather nerd.
Shelly has carried her love of tormenting her cousins with horror movies in her childhood through to her married life. Her husband requires regular therapy from all of her ghoulish hijinx.
